History

woodlandWoodland House Nursery is an award winning and forward thinking family-run private nursery for children aged 3 months to 5 years. It is situated in the Clifton area of Bristol in close proximity to the City Centre, Bristol University and Bristol Hospitals.

Woodland House Nursery was established in 2009 due to the demand for childcare specifically in that area. The directors of the nursery already had Archfield House Nursery in the local vicinity so knew the demands on working families to find quality childcare.

The sister nursery, Archfield House was founded in 1986 by Susan Parslow to support working families in the local area. Susan’s daughter, Rebecca Clevett took over as Director in 2005 after starting her family. Rebecca has had a successful career as an Early Years teacher and Assistant Headteacher at a large primary school in Brighton. She was also awarded Teacher of the Year for the South East region in 2003.

Rebecca has over 20 years professional experience and leadership which underpins her commitment to innovation that goes beyond the normal standards of early childcare and development. Woodland House Nursery has grown steadily over the years and has become recognised as offering quality childcare and early education within the local community as well as the wider nursery sector.

Unique selling points are the 7am opening time and also the inspirational Beach School that takes place once a week at Severn Beach. Woodland House Nursery won a Nursery World prestigious award for this initiative in 2013 and was also a finalist for the Nursery Management Today award.

‘The primary aim at Woodland House Nursery is to provide a safe, nurturing atmosphere where all children are able to thrive and achieve their full potential.
